Ride name: Test Your Climing Legs 40 Miler DME
Start: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday 2/18, Mill Creek Sports Park, 13903 North Creek Dr, Mill Creek, WA 98012. Please arrive at 9:50 a.m.
Length: 40 Miles
Course: Mix of roadway and paved trails. Some fast paced roads with traffic (Beverly Blvd), some roadways without shoulders (Lowell Larimer and Seattle Hill Rd), paved trails (Centennial Trail).
Breaks: Three quick restroom stops about every 10 miles, plus the starting location. No food stop planned, so bring snacks to eat on the go or when we stop for restrooms. Water too is strongly advised.
Pace: Brisk = 16-18 mph on flats
Terrain = C. 1,800 ft elevation gain with a couple of serious climbs: Soper Hill Road and Seattle Hill Road. (Note that the road names have Hill in them. That's a sign. In other words, this is a good route to get in touch with your inner hill climber.)
Kit: It's likely to start out chilly, then warm up, so you'll want to layer in order to peel off when you warm up.
