Monday Oct. 28th - Iron Horse Trail to Snoqualmie Pass

    the forest service will be closing the Hyak Tunnel the first of November and I going to do a last minute trek up the trail.

    this is a soft surface trial, you really need a 28mm tire or bigger.  the trail is an old railroad grade so it's only a 3 percent grade and the trail was regarded two years ago so a lot fewer pot holes.  it's 18 miles into the tunnel which is 2 miles long, a GOOD bike light is mandatory to go through the tunnel.  the ride is very scenic with 3 big trestles.

    social-moderate speed, no services so bring lots of water and snacks.

    My plan is to leave from my office and hit the trail head by rattlesnake lake (east of north bend) in the late morning.  specific plans/timing is not set if you are interested in joining me please contact me at 425-308-0224 or Snodgrass-mike@hotmail.com and we'll work out specifics.
