I will be riding this ride (
http://www.hcrh.org/events/2013-gorge-ride/) at a social pace (5-6 going uphill, 10-12 on the few flats, as fast as gravity will allow on the downhills)... Would love to have some company, so if you would like to join me, please RSVP, and we can make it a club ride. I'm planning on starting at 8:00am, so as to have the winds in my back on the way back...
This is a paid ride. So if you go, please pre-register, or do whatever else it might take to be ready to start riding at 8:00.
This ride is about 40 miles, and the terrain is B. The nice thing about this historic highway is that very few of the grades are steeper than 5% - but there are lots and lots and lots and lots of climbing, and just as you thought you climbed enough - there is another climb, for a total elevation gain of around 3,000 feet.
On the plus side, the views are absolutely spectacular, to a point where you might not notice the climbs...
