PSRC Invites Comments to Improve Rural Road Safety
Puget Sound Regional Council, a planning organization encompassing the four major counties around the Sound, is seeking comments on road safety in rural areas such as Darrington, Granite Falls, and east Snohomish County. In 2025, PSRC adopted a regional safety action plan to address the higher number of road deaths in rural areas compared to urban area when adjusted for population.
Riders who use rural roads know too well that pavement edges, lack of shoulders, tight turns and speeding drivers make rides in beautiful countryside much less appealing and often dangerous.
