NOTE: This is NOT a BIKES Club sanctioned ride, but may be of interest to club members.
This Saturday is the Spring Populaire, brought to us by Seattle Int’l Randonneurs.
This is a real randonneuring event, a brevet. It’s an introductory ride because they want people to give it a try to see what randonneuring is all about. It’s free (which is a very good price) and there will be a lot of first timers there. I’m guessing there will be about 100 folks, so it’ll be a big crowd. Even though it’s free, registration is required.
It’s self supported and you ride at your own pace. There will be quick riders and slow riders and everything in between. And it finishes at Zeek’s Pizza, a good place for pizza and refreshments.
It’s half the usual distance - only 100 km (65 miles). And it’s a lot of fun. I hope you can make it. Consider yourself invited!
