We just received this email from Jackie at NWABA, looking for folks willing to captain a tandem for blind athletes. Who's up for it?
What's a captain? The captain is the rider in the front position. The rear rider is called a stoker. Riding a tandem is fun so don't shy away from this chance to have some fun and be a blessing to someone else!
If you're interested or want more information, please contact Jackie directly.

Hi,
My name is Jackie Jasinsky, and I am the Program Specialist for the Puget Sound Area at Northwest Association for Blind Athletes. NWABA is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, WA. However, we do serve in the Puget Sound Area, and I would love to keep growing connections and community within the Snohomish County.
Our mission at NWABA is to provide life changing opportunity through sports and physical activity to individuals who are blind and visually impaired. We offer many different programs: in Person Sport Outreach Event, Virtual Workout Programs, Camp Sparks, Our Resource YouTube Channel, and our Lending Library.
Here is our website link if you would like to know more about us: Enriching Lives Through Sports | Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (nwaba.org)
I am reaching out to see if anyone in your cycling community would like to volunteer to captain a tandem bike for a blind athlete. We have an upcoming event on August 24th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. I am happy to provide more information if you are interested! I believe this could be a great way to build connections and community.
I look forward to your response!
Thank you,
Jackie
