Ramps closed overnight in Montlake Saturday, April 30
We will close both westbound SR 520 off-ramps in Montlake on Saturday night to build an embankment near the SR 520 Trail by East Montlake Park. To consolidate nighttime noise, crews will also close the eastbound on-ramp from Montlake Boulevard Saturday night for paving. Due to the noisy equipment, we received a Temporary Noise Variance (TNV) from the city of Seattle.
Saturday ramp closures
Nighttime noise The city of Seattle granted WSDOT a temporary noise variance for Saturday night’s work due its proximity to the neighborhood and the equipment needed to do the work, including excavators, dump trucks, vibratory rollers, paving equipment and street sweepers.
As always, we will take measures to minimize noise and there will be a noise inspector on site. Call our 24-hour Montlake Project hotline at 206-775-8885 if you have concerns.
SR 520 Trail closed Thursday morning through Sunday night
The SR 520 trail across Lake Washington and the temporary trail under under the highway will close at 3 a.m. Thursday, April 28 until 10 p.m. Sunday, May 1. Crews must close the trail to work on drainage, realign a section of the trail, and replace a trail counter located in Seattle’s Montlake neighborhood. Pedestrians and bicyclists should plan to take alternate routes across Lake Washington.
