March Pt-Two Views of Anacortes

The name derives from the two views we will climb to - Cap Sante & Washington Park, each at opposite ends of Anacortes.

The pace is high steady-low moderate. A good portion of the route is on multi-use trail, so the pace will be tempered by other trail users. We will be on the shoulder of Hwy 20 for part of the ride where we will pick up the pace and maintain single-file. A couple very short gravel stretches, fine for 28c, maybe even 25c. The Fidalgo Bay trestle may have broken clamshells, which are softer than gravel, never been a problem.

We will meet at the March Point P&R at 9:45 am for safety briefing and a 10:00 am rollout.

Moka Joe Coffee is a short walk across from the P&R. I plan to arrive early enough to get some morning coffee, and some post-ride coffee. Bring your own snacks for mid-ride rest stops. There will be no mid-ride coffee stops. Lopez Island Creamery off Reservation Road for ice cream is a possible stop at the end of the ride on the drive home. It's less than two miles from the P&R.
