Conway - Fir Island Social Pace Ride

Meet at 10:15 for a 10:30 roll out at the Conway Ball Fields.  

Ride about 24 low elevation miles around Fir Island. Optional lunch stop at the Taqueria in Conway after riding. 

Social pace, 11 to 12 mph on mostly two lane (no shoulder) low traffic rural farm roads, with a few spots of higher traffic but with a fairly wide shoulder.  There will be a short stretch of hard pack gravel to get to the Skagit Wildlife Area. 

Usually there is NO portalet this time of year at the start in Conway.  Sometimes there is one near the Conway Pub, sometimes not.  Usually I will stop at the Shell station before parking, but plan accordingly.  The only bathroom stop on the ride will be at about mile 19. 

There may be some snow geese or swans out in the fields this time of year, maybe even a few eagles now and then. 

Plan for a chilly start.
