Steady Pace Bikin' then Pickleballin' and Snackin'
Meet on Tuesday 7/8 at 9:45AM at my house, 2 miles from the Stanwood Park & Ride, for a 10:00AM roll out. Please register for the ride before 7:00PM on Monday evening (7/7). I will send email with directions and instructions to get past the neighborhood gate to registered riders after 7:00PM
The 24+ mile route starts out as A terrain to get the legs warmed up. At about mile 7 we'll start about 5 miles of B terrain then mixed A & B for the rest of the ride. We'll go at a mid-steady pace with regroups at the tops of hills. RWGPS says a total elevation gain of 944 feet. The route map is: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47349889.
The dairy in the valley sprayed the fields last week and then watered, so I think we're safe from cow-aroma until the next hay baling. Tuesday is supposed to be sunny and in the mid 70's. I think it adds up to good opportunity for snacks and pickleball after the ride! If you want to skip the pickleball and just hang out for the snacks and socialization, that's cool too. If you just want to go for a ride and then head out, also cool.
We'll set up lawn tables and chairs out under some nice shady trees. Some snacks and beverages will be provided, but if you want a particular snack or beverage, you may want to bring it. We have several wooden lawn chairs and some folding fabric camp style If you want a comfy lawn chair, you may want to bring it. We have pickleball equipment for those that want to play, or feel free to bring your own.
If you do want to play pickleball, please observe the court rules. No bike shoes on the pickleball court! Please wear non-marking shoes, preferably court shoes since they are more stable for this kind of activity. Note that many running shoes are not non-marking. There is a bathroom if you want to change out of bike clothes after the ride.
Group size is set at 12 including the ride leader. Restroom stops at the beginning and end. Bushes in the middle. E-Bike riders are responsible for knowing and complying with the BIKES club e-bike policy (on the website). Bring the usual stuff for the ride - flat repair equipment, mid-ride snacks and beverages, etc.

Please feel free to contact me via text or email prior to the day of the ride - if I'm working in the shop or the yard I won't hear the phone. Phone works the day of the ride. Bad weather may cancel, check ride updates. Really bad dairy smell (3 or 4 days a month) won't cancel, but may make you reconsider pickleball and outdoor snacks.
PS - For those that came last year when I couldn't find the cushions for the back patio furniture that problem has been resolved. I know where they are ... and they'll be out so you can you the back patio as well.
