Top of the Lake + Tamale Stop Steady Ride
Mmmm. Tamales. Every now and then I can't resist the call. This time it will be a different route that takes us from Bothell over Lake Washington then up to Green Lake for the tamale stop. We'll head back to Lake Washington through Ravenna then along the Burke-Gilman Trail back to Bothell. We'll use official bike lanes for much of the route through Seattle.
Meet at 9:45 at Bothell Landing Park for a 10:00 AM roll out. There are a few parking options including the gravel lot where I usually park. Let's meet up by the bathrooms next to the Historical Museum to start the ride.
This a is a longer ride than previous tamale runs at just under 35 miles with ~1300 feet of elevation gain. We'll do it at a steady pace. Most of it's A terrain, but there are a number of solid B hills including the climb up 100th near the start, Market hill in north Kirkland, the two hills on the trail near Yarrow Point, and the bike lane up Old Stone Way to Green Lake. As usual, frequent regroups, particularly at the top of hills.

Bathrooms are available at the start, Juanita Beach Park, Green Lake, and several options along the Burke Gilman Trail.

Disclaimers: Bad weather cancels. At this point that probably means excessive low level smoke cancels. E-bike welcome, please read and comply with the club e-bike policy. Bring enough to drink and the usual fix-it stuff, especially flat repair type fix-it stuff. It's also handy to bring a fork and some napkins if you want tamales.
For those that haven't done a tamale run with me, the planned stop is Frelard Tamales on Latona. Frelard does not have a dining room. It's a walk up hole in the wall where you order at the door. We'll head to Green lake Park to find a table for a less-than-formal dining experience. Be prepared to walk or ride a few blocks with tamales in a takeout container.
