Magnuson Park - Golden Gardens Moderate Ride @ 10 AM

Moderate pace (14 – 16 mph), 31 miles, A & B terrain with 800 feet of elevation gain. About 1.5 miles of hard-pack gravel trail in Magnuson Park, plus 29.5 miles of paved trails and streets. Frequent regroups.
Meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM roll out at Seattle Magnuson Park Public Parking Lot at SE corner of NE 74th St & Sportsfield Dr NE. Porta-potty usually nearby.
This is a loop ride around some of north Seattle's prominent and scenic waterways. We'll ride to the shore of Lake Washington, across the Montlake Cut, southern shores of Portage Bay, Lake Union, Ship Canal, and Salmon Bay, walk our bikes about 0.5 mile across the Ballard Locks area, then continue riding on to Golden Gardens Park and Meadow Point where we'll run out of land to ride on, then we'll ride back to Magnuson Park mostly on the Burke-Gilman Trail. Several rest stops on the way.
We will see the site of the very 1st round the world flight started and ended in 1924, and the site of the launch of Boeing's 1st airplane in 1916.
Coffee / lunch opportunities (the group can pick one) include Ivar's Seafood Bar at Lake Union (mile 24), Zoka Coffee (mile 26), Metropolitan Market (mile 27), or Magnuson Cafe (mile 30).
