Matthews Beach to Golden Gardens

Wednesday, July12th, 10:00 a.m.

Meet at Matthews Beach parking lot at 9:45 for a 10:00 a.m. roll out.  31 mile route on a varying mix of trail and low and high traffic roads with bike lanes through Seattle and Ballard, going through the locks, and stopping at Golden Gardens.  This will be a "low steady" (12 to 12 mph) ride but will have several stops for sight-seeing along the way.  A and B terrain. There isn't a lot of elevation on this route, but there are some hills.  There will be areas with heavier traffic and we will be walking through the locks with our bikes.  Some areas of the Burke Gilman trail are busy with pedestrians traffic and are rooted and bumpy.  

Stop for lunch at the Ballard PCC at about mile 20.  Bring a lock, but hopefully we can find a place to eat outside and watch bikes.  

Bathrooms available at the start, and at Golden Gardens Park.  

This ride is capped at 8 due to traffic and route concerns.
