Kirkland to Lake Sammamish State Park, Steady Ride
Sunday, September 18, 2022, 10 am
~35 miles, 1,675 ft elevation gain
We'll meet in the parking lot at Heritage Park, Kirkland, at 9:45 am for a 10 am start. Parking inside Heritage Park is limited to 4 hours, but unlimited-hour parking is available adjacent to the park on Waverly Way. It's best to park on Waverly Way as the ride is 35 miles and we'll be stopping for lunch.
We'll ride from Heritage Park along the Kirkland waterfront & the 520 trail, through the Microsoft campus & Lake Hills to Lake Sammamish State Park (~mile 14). We begin our return along East Lake Sammamish Parkway, stopping for lunch at Blazing Bagels just north of Marymoor Park (~mile 26). From there, we'll head west via the 520 trail and city streets back to Heritage Park.
Weather is looking nice on Sunday, but be prepared for cooler weather. Bring sufficient water, clothes and money if you'd like to buy lunch at Blazing Bagels.
This is a Steady pace ride. There are two major hills that we'll take at our own pace and regroup at the top. Otherwise we'll stay together.
We'll stop at Marina Park, which is less than 1/2 mile from the start, for restrooms and water. Restrooms also available at Lake Sammamish State Park.
Finally, I hope you can join us!
