Autumn Loop around Lake Sammamish from Wilmot Gateway Park, Woodinville
Saturday, September 3, 2022, 9:30 am
Weather is looking nice for a Saturday ride. I had previously posted a ride that would take us through Bellevue, but today I learned the Bellevue Rock 'n' Roll races will be held this Saturday! I decided it best if we ride somewhere else, so I changed Saturday's route to one around Lake Sammamish from Woodinville. I hope you will join me.
41.9 miles, 1,567 ft, Steady pace
We'll meet at Wilmot Gateway Park, Woodinville at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am start. Parking is available across the street, next to the Woodinville Sports Field. We'll meet at the pergola next to the bathrooms inside the park. Water is available at the park.
While the route, below, starts at Woodinville Park & Ride, we will instead start at Wilmot Gateway Park. We'll take a traditional route south to Issaquah and return north via Education Hill & English Hill. A couple revisions will be made to keep us off busy roads.
This is a stay together ride at a steady pace (12-14 mph on the flat). There is only one long gradual hill. We'll take it at our own pace and regroup frequently.
Restrooms are available in Marymoor Park (~ mile 9, ~ mile 28), if needed. We'll stop at PCC Community Markets in Issaquah for lunch (~ mile 20).
The route will be similar to RWGPS Route map: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31186404
Ride leader name & contact information: Dayle Iverson, 425-301-2922
Weather will be nice, but warm. Bring sufficient water, snacks and/or money for food and drinks.
