Trafton to Darrington and Return on the Whitehorse Trail

Enjoy a 49 mile out and back ride from the Trafton trailhead to Darrington along the A/B terrain Whitehorse Trail at a moderate pace effort level.

Meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM roll out at the Trafton trailhead. The trailhead is ~4 miles east of Arlington.  Left on 115th off of highway 530 and down the hill.  Park in the fenced area by the blue silo.  The farm buildings and equipment are not part of the park, so please be respectful of the neighbors.

The trail is mostly compacted gravel that is suitable for most gravel, hybrid, mountain, and e-bikes with a 35C or wider tire.  I've done it on a 32mm and it was fine if a little twitchy at times.  The combination of generally heavier bikes (I'm riding my mountain bike) and the gravel surface mean a steady pace speed, but expect a moderate pace effort level. 

We will stop in Darrington for a half and hour or so at the city park for some lunch.  There is an IGA close to the park so food and water will be available, but the trail is largely undeveloped so be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks to enjoy en route.

There isn't a bike shop close, so bring the basics listed under Joining Us For a Ride along with water and snacks.

Please register before 8:00PM the evening before the ride.  Group size is limited to 8.

Bathroom options are sparse.  There is a Honey Bucket at the Trafton trailhead and nice bathroom (hopefully open!) at the park in Darrington.
