Echo Lake - Alki Beach Loop Ride

Ride Leader:  Rick Proctor 425-293-3153, BikeHound@comcast.net.

Please Register by 8 PM evening before the ride if you intend to go.

Group sizes are limited to 8 club members including the Ride Leader.

Meet at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM roll out at the Echo Lake Park near City of Shoreline.

This will be an early start for a bigger than average day on your bike with friends.  We will ride our bikes on trails and streets, across the Ballard Locks (about 0.5 mile of bike walking required), Discovery Park, Magnolia, Seattle waterfront, Harbor Island, and Alki Beach.  We' find somewhere for lunch around Alki Beach.  On our return we will take a ferry shortcut on a water taxi (buy your own ticket) from the Alki area to Seattle, ride across the Fremont Bridge, UW, Ravenna Park, Green Lake Park and back to where we started at Echo Lake Park.  Optional coffee stop at Starbucks in Shoreline about a mile from the finish.  Several rest stops expected.  Frequent regroups.  Bring water and snacks.

This is an exploration trip that has not been a BIKES Club ride for several years.  Adventure likely.

Moderate pace (14 – 16 mph)

50 miles, A/B terrain with ~2,000 feet of elevation gain per Ride With GPS.

Foul weather cancels, check the Ride Updates page or text / e-mail if in doubt.
