The Tuesday Moderate Ride for 19 February is cancelled due to remaining snow & sand slush in the bike lanes of arterial streets, high temperature expected in the 30s, and if that's not enough cold rain expected too. Interurban Trail in some places is still completely covered with snow. Residential streets that did not get sand are mostly ok, but some sections still have slush all the way across. It's not warm enough to melt it off by tomorrow. Earlier today Cindy and I loaded up our bikes and tried the Sammamish River Trail at Wilmot Gateway Park in Woodinville. We quickly got turned back by snow across the trail under trees in both directions. After a grand total of 0.6 mile we reloaded and went toward Log Boom Park. On the way we saw sections of the Burke-Gilman covered with snow, so we came home and rode a couple miles locally, again limited by snow/slush/sand. This day was not my idea of fun, and I don’t expect tomorrow to be much better so I am cancelling the Tuesday Moderate Ride for tomorrow. L
