Community Transit needs your help to update the “Snohomish County Area Bicycling & Trail Map”.

We want to include the latest information on common bike routes and paths to assist both recreational and commuting cyclists in traveling through your city and around the county. This map was last updated in 2010.

Please review the current map on our website at

http://www.commtrans.org/FAQs/Images/bikemaps/BikeMap2010.pdf   and consider whether we should add or delete any routes shown in your community.

Note changes in bike lanes, roads with wide shoulders, routes commonly used by cyclists and low-traffic roads that connect to key corridors. Road projects in the last two years may have widened a route we show as narrow, or traffic may have increased on a route we show as lightly traveled.

You can also assist by providing access to current data on traffic volumes, speed limits and street widths (email those documents or provide web location or hard copy). If you have a project underway that provides a significant improvement for cyclists we will show it provided it is due for completion in 2012.

For traffic speeds and volume, please including notes on your reasoning so that our map can be consistent. We are also interested in amenities such as parks or public restrooms.

For edits to the main bicycle map located on the web (http://www.commtrans.org/FAQs/Images/bikemaps/BikeMap2010.pdf) , please be sure to include the Map Grid coordinates and street name.  For example the Lynnwood Transit Center is located at K2, off 200th Street.

Please click on the following links for the Interurban and Centennial Trails.

    Interurban Trail: http://www.mediafire.com/?tmfrpuln985mra9

    Centennial Trail: http://www.mediafire.com/?naz49xiaj7f7ee1

Since these maps do not have a Map Grid, please send edits back  that identify the Trail they should be associated with.  For example Interurban Trail: Bike/Pedestrian bridge at 196th Street completed.

We need to receive your input by Friday, February 10, 2012. Please send all comments to Mark Melnyk via email to mark.melnyk@commtrans.org.

There will be a Map Stakeholder review the first week of March.  If you would like to be included in the map review, please be sure to indicate your interest in your return email.
