Dec. 1, 2014: The Centennial Trail Coalition reports the following:

The recent heavy rains have damaged a small section of the Whitehorse Trail in Oso.  Snohomish County Parks has closed about 200 feet of the trail.  There is a map and photos on our the trail coalition blog page.

The success of the summer brushing effort by the Workforce Snohomish crew is highlighted by the fact that there were a couple of quick responses to this problem, and Snohomish County Parks could get a heads up call and quickly respond. Before the brushing had been done, this section of the trail was not accessible due to heavy growth of Himalayan Blackberry.  Now that more of the trail is brushed, it will be much easier and more likely that the Parks crew can keep on top of maintenance needs and problem spots such as this.  Thank you to the Workforce Snohomish Crew for the improvement.
