Yakima Tour 2026 (16 May 2026)

Yakima Area Tour 2026

DATES HAVE CHANGED!!!

(By one day) See details below!

The canyon ride date and time are official and pre-registration is open.

The dates have been moved by one day to accommodate the May club meeting, which is the designated yearly meeting to elect club officers. The Saturday, Sunday, and Monday rides stay the same. The Friday ride has been moved from being the first ride to being the last ride, now scheduled for Tuesday.

I will be posting the individual rides in the next few days. You will need to register for each ride you would like to do. This allows people to sign up for some or all of the rides instead of the whole tour.

If the registration is full and you would like to do the ride, please put yourself on the waitlist. It'll get sorted out in the system and you'll be welcome on the ride.

Pace is steady, except for the Canyon Ride which is self paced. The rides on Saturday and Monday maybe slightly less scenic than last year's ride from Moxee to Zillah and back, but also a lot less hilly.

Meet at Sixty Acres Park at 9:45 for introduction and safety briefing and be READY to roll at 10:00. Combination of trail and urban roadways (with bike lanes).

On the low end of steady pace, 12-13 on flats and a bit slower going up hills. Terrain is a mix of A and B (rollers) with most of the elevation in the middle of the ride.

If you haven't ridden this route, even though it's mostly trail and bike lanes, there are many busy spots where riders need to be hyper aware of traffic situations and crossing many driveways along certain sections, and a few areas of rough roadway. There may be some areas of construction, although we know that the East Lake Sammamish Trail is open for another few weeks.

We will stop for a quick lunch/snack/restroom break at the Lake Sammamish Park at about mile 19 or so. No other stops are planned.

Lake Sammamish Loop from Sixty Acres CJP · Ride with GPS

Worsening forecast or rain in the morning will cancel this ride.

Other important details: Rider limit is set at EIGHT for this ride.
Regarding E-bikes: E-bike riders and Ride Leaders should understand the BIKES Club e-bike policy: https://www.bikesclub.org/sys/website/?pageId=1791878
